We have a new little puppy. His name is Adi. I'll get into why that name in a minute but as Mr. Covey says, first things first...
Christian had been really wanting a dog for some time. After much bugging for probably a good month, I finally though to myself, "it's not right that growing boys not have a dog." So I relented. Christian did his research, we were all certain that we wanted a yellow lab and he'd been searching on KSL Classifieds until we found the perfect mixture of price, location, and puppy. We finally found a breeder in Richfield Utah who had a litter of 10 puppies. They had 2 left they were just wanting to finish selling off so had lowered the price to $100. They were AKC purebred yellow labs.
We jumped in the van, Christian, Ty, and I and we drove nearly 2 hours down to Richfield. We found the house, saw their two remaining puppies, and selected the whiter and more docile of the two as our new family member and baby. On the way to Richfield and home we went through a few names. Including Rex (a reuse of an old dog we used to have), and a few others. I think it was me that suggessted the first name of the great German shoe maker Mr. Adi Dassler after looking up top dog names on the internet, I migrated to a top international dog names and saw some german names, that made me thing of Adi. *Adidas* it seemed like a neat name since our soccer club is sponsered by Adidas and the boys have EVERYTHING adidas.
So Adi it was... There's actually more, his last name is Leosson. Derived from his father who was named Leo. And we threw in "4th stripe" as a little nickname since Adidas brand has 3 stripes, we have 3 boys, so Adi would be the 4th stripe among the boys. Soooo... registered with the AKC he is "Sir Adi 4th Stripe Leosson" Mostly just Adi. You're right... it was a long trip back from Richfield and we had too much time to make things up obviously.
It turns out this puppy, born April 16th, has been the most obedient, docile, easily trained little dog we could've ever asked for. We've loved having him and I even think Wendi (a bird person normally) has even started taking a liking to him. He's a sweet baby. He hung out with us the entire 4 days at the soccer tournament and everyone loved him and he loved all the attention.
