See if you can guess? It's hard!

Jensen asked Kimberly to Prom the night they won nationals. She answered him last night.I'm going to post this picture and you see if you can guess what it is. If you can guess what it is post it in comments. Don't cheat though and see all the comments first. The answer is below too but have integrity and try to guess w/o looking. But I'll never know...

Okeydoughkey

Jens got his answer from Kim last night but we were having a difficult time figuring it out.
I'll try to post the picture. We tried unsucessfully eating all the baked cookie dough. We thought like all of Jensen's other answers a foil wrapped paper with "YES" written on it would be hidden inside the cookie dough. Deliciouso cookies, we still couldn't find any "answer". And of course we were looking for a solid affirmative answer, not a clever unique way of answering.
I went to work and asked Natalie and Meg to help me to figure it out. Nat figured it out in about 30 seconds after we were brain storming about different ways to answer yes. Way to go Natalie, she won the prize!

I went home and Jens wanted to know right away what the answer was and I wanted him to think a little bit harder. So I gave him the "clue" one more time. "It's the shape of the first key and the substance of the second". He was thinking too hard...he was saying..."a key is not a shape". He also went along the lines of the size of the keys, paper vs. doughy etc. I asked if the key hole was part of it, shoenough it was. He thought, there is no "O" in yes. (She already said yes, when he gave her the bear but wanted to give a physical answer). So he thought "is she rethinking her answer and is saying "NO" to me? I told him to not think that hard and to try to "read" the clues. He finally got that the key hole was an "O" and after trying to read the clues he got it.

But it went kind of like this

"You hold the key to my heart." hehe
"keycookie"
"Ok?" after knowing to look at the key hole now as an "O"
"OkI" (long I sound) and finally
"Okidokey"

This was the best answer ever! Thanks Alex! (her brother thought up the idea)

PS I would love another batch of them soon!!

More national photos!

I love these pictures! Kimberly's mom asked her favorite photographer to take some pictures of her and these are some of my favorites! I love how each is out focus. Way cool technique. The above photos are taken right after they found out they won and are taking a bow.

Just the top three couples that won youth smooth, there are another 3 couples on the floor right next to the 3rd place couple.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in youth smooth

Here are some videos of the final for youth smooth and the Nationals Champions! Here are the dances in order as they happened. There are usually 6 couples in a final and the judges choose their favorites. Jens and Kim got 2nd in the waltz, 1st in the tango, 1st in the foxtrot, and 2nd in the vienesse waltz. Adding all those numbers up makes 6 points. The couple placing 2nd recieved 12 points, meaning they recieved some 3rd and 4th placings. In the heats
before the final the judges just mark down which couples they like and then you go on if you have the highest amount of votes. In the final though it's the couple with the lowest number that wins. It is quite confusing.

And here are the awards.
I must say that I'm so proud of Chelsey and Parker too (2nd place couple) At every competition I'm always worried. They always look so great! Way to go to you guys too!

Nationals is the culminating event of the ballroom world. What a wonderful ending to his high school ballroom career. Kimberly has been such a treat to have as a partner. She is so talented, dedicated, hard working and soo soo sweet. Even with all this talent you would think she would be snotty and think she's all that but she's not at all, quite the contrary. Jensen LOVED dancing with her. Who knew what 5 months of hard work, a great coach, lots of time and money, and two very dedicated dancers would accomplish. This was the highlight of nationals. I'll post more pictures of them with their medals after they won when I get the pictures.

Here is a picture of them with their coach Michael Johnson.

Nationals

The latin medley team right after a disappointing placing. They performed so well and thought they would make higher than 5th place out of 8 teams. The new latin medley this year was done to a cool arrangement of Queen songs, hence the wild "hang loose" hand signals.
All the senior boys right after the latin medley.

Aren't they so handsome?!!
Jens, Skyler, Maurice, Austin

Buddies
Austin, Katie, Cristin, Jens Everybody is so tan. You tan and put tons of makeup on so you stand out to the judges.

Cristin and Jens and the whole outfit for latin. They got called back 2 times to the quarters. Cristin and Jens also place 2nd in syllabus waltz/quickstep out 71 couples. Wow!!! Cristin and Jens have only been dancing together for 6 months. What great things they accomplished together. They were really great together!
