...to the redwood forest...this land was made for you and me. part 5

part

The next morning (1 April) we left to start our real vacation...seeing the redwoods and staying in a little time share (some nice people in our ward gave us a few days as a gift)  It was super fun.  Crowded but fun.  The drive was beautiful and winding roads...almost sickening roads.  It took a long time to finally get to Nice (pronounced niece).  Clear Lake is what the body of water is called.  We went fishing the day we got there, had a bbq (the place furnished every suite with one).  Ours was a 2 bedroom (although we could've gotten away with a one bedroom even with all 3 of us...there was a hideaway bed in the living room).  And if we would have had a 1 bedroom..we would have been right on the lake.  We were surrounded by tons of families and little kids (which was ok...I guess...just tons of noise).
The next morning (2 April) we drove through Napa valley and saw amazing (bachelor talk) vineyards, just gorgeous!  Cute quaint little towns until we got to the Avenue of the Giants self guided tour.  Super fun!  The redwood trees were ginormous and would tower over us.  Several places we stopped to take pictures.  It was fun to meander on our own schedule.  You would be just awe struck at the magnificent trees.  We were.  You have to be there to actually appreciate the largeness...

Fishing at the hotel in Nice, Ca.  Wow Brian looks superb in this photo.
All these were taken with his phone camera.  Switching between computers is a pain, so this is what uploaded first.
Driving to Nice (Pronounced like niece) took forever it seemed.  But it sure is beautiful!  Driving ANYWHERE in California is beautiful.  It was a great trip!

Humbolt Forest.  The driving tour.  Magnificent!

 Fallen tree. perspective

Found a slug...hey it matches my shirt.
This fallen tree that we're on was uphill.  You can't really tell from the picture.

This house was built funnily..Brian will have to explain it...He and Ty went..  I opted not to because of my ears.  I get sick with anything messing with my equilibrium.
