21 Years

Today, I have been married for 21 years. Yes that's a long time. For me, I've passed the amount of time I was single. I was married at 19.

Here's how we met:

My dad was friends of the young men's president in the ward we were visiting(from Germany) and he invited my sister and I to their youth activity to attend the Manti Pageant. At the same time, one of the young men in the same ward invited Brian to go too. (Amazing we met!!!) Andrea and I had our things in a car along with some other boys' things, but I saw Brian (who we hadn't met yet) throw out the other boys' things on the grass and sneakily put their own stuff in it's place. Silly boys. I was 16, Andrea 14, Brian 18 and same with his friend Robbie. We drove over to Manti and watched (haha) or rather...we kissed a little bit(I know!!!I just met him!!!) during the pageant. We loved to do that! I can't help it, I LOVE to kiss him! The activity included a sleep over at someone's home there in Manti...boys outside and girls inside...As luck would have it...it started to rain (woohoo) so the boys were moved into the living room and the girls were moved to another room, but I had to go to the "bathroom alot" or "get a drink" (well, just to see Brian, he's so cute) I snuck out and we ended up "talking" the rest of the night. I don't remember the ride home but I do remember the rest of the month that we were visiting my grandparents, we dated every single day. We talked about BIG L and little l and which one we felt for each other and if we could/would be able to see each other after his mission.

While he was gone I wrote in my journal that I would love to be married to Brian and I couldn't wait to sweep the floors, and wash his clothes...psssshhh...(isn't that funny?!) We wrote each other (me from Germany and he was in Spain) for a couple months but not the whole 2 years. After graduation from HS in Germany I moved back with my mom which happened to be right around his return from his mission. He called after I had moved back. We reunited in May, got engaged in June and married in Aug.

I have often thought if I would do things the same way, how young I was, all the issues we had as a young married couple, no school. I totally would. I would love to marry you all over again! Brian is super funny, I think that's one of my favorite things about him. He makes me laugh and other people too. He's soooo good to me and such a great example to our boys. He still opens my doors for me and wants me to wait in my seat for him to come around to open my door. Shhhh...don't tell him but I secretly love that...I'm perfectly happy just hanging around at our house with him. We love to just be around each other.

I love you BRIAN!! Here's to another 21! Big hugs honey boney!

We have the same August 18th milestone. It's our 9 year anniversary today. I hope we are still that much in love in 12 years.

How did I miss this post? It is soooo sweet! It is fun to see the personality I see in both of you ever so strong at the beginning of your relationship/marriage. You are such a sweet couple! And yes ... such a sweet response by your sweetheart. You are both amazing! I'm lucky to know both of you and hopefully we can all grow old together in a closer proximity. Hugs! Corin
